This is a delight for nature lovers.... and right in the heart of the city too.The entrance to this park is opposite to the Dharavi Bus Depot. Park timings are from 9:00 am to 3:30 p.m.
With more than 200 species of birds and a number of migratory visitors in the winter months, this is designated UNESCO World Heritage Site. Though the distance between Kumbhalgarh and Bharatpur is around 400km, it is a easy overnight journey by Mewar express from Bharatpur to Udaipur.
The Elephanta Island which is famous for the Elephanta Caves (designated as UNESCO World Heritage Site) is also a good spot for bird watching.
Dandeli was on my wish list after I read a travel article which indicated that it had the largest concentration of black panthers in India. This interest got me reading on Dandeli and I found out that it is also a fabulous birding destination and is also a good place for white water rafting.

Just discovered another birding spot in Mumbai. It has a vast area through which you can walk around. Saw a number of birds and butterflies there. Got my first spoonbill sighting in Mumbai here.
